Ponce de Leon Springs State Park:
A visit to Florida's Ponce de Leon Springs state park is one way to beat the heat
and thumb your nose at global warming.
Fourteen million gallons a day of crystal clear waters flow out at a constant temperature of 68 degrees
Farenheit all year long,
Stay a while. Take an occasional swim in chilly waters. Cook outdoors.
The park is small, well maintained, and affordable (nominal charge per vehicle).
Directions:
Travel east on highway 90, starting from the Walton county courthouse in downtown Defuniak Springs.
It is a short trip through Argyle and across the county line into Ponce de Leon. There you turn south on county road 181
